The biggest music festival EKC has ever seen… introducing CAMPchella!

It is now second session which means that there is no Fourth of July programming for second trip campers. The head staff and programming team created a super fun day of swimming, games, live music performances, and so much more for everyone to enjoy so that our second session cameprs don’t miss out on the fun of large camp programming and get to experience a similar type of festival like we were about to do for the Fourth of July.

As a teen staff member this was such an exciting day for me and all my kids. Open upper ball fields, which for a lot of teens means chilling at the pool all day, was a perfect way to spend an extra hot summer day. The teens love to just spend time together and days like this means uninterrupted bonding and time to just be with their friends all in one big space. You can also tell that they love the feeling of freedom and independence that comes with days like this. They get to choose which activities to participate in on their own time and in their own way. It’s so fun seeing them travel around the upper ball fields to all the different things going on.

One of my favorite parts about camp is how musical we are at EKC and how singing can bring everyone together. Mason, Pippa, and Rachel put on some incredible performances for the entire camp and provided such a sense of community to all the festivities!

Flower crown decorating and album cover designing were super popular among the younger campers at EKC! It gave them a chance to be creative and make something that they could take with them throughout the rest of the day.

Not to mention that all the campers had the opportunity to sign up for and compete in a lip sync battle throughout the afternoon. Kids from every single unit signed up and performed and they all looked like they were having so much fun the entire time.

Let’s also not forget about one of the highlights and tastiest parts of the day! The snow cones!! Campers (and staff of course) were able to cool off with a sweet treat which was the perfect way to end the day! See you next time for this weeks shabbat!
