Late Wake-Up!
By Pamela Nestor
This morning was a late wake-up, so we slept in an extra hour before heading to the dining hall. We had yogurt and granola with fresh-cut berries, eggs, and cereal, yum! After schticks around the flagpole, we all went to activities. Halutzim girls joined their counselors in the gym to work on their fitness. They learned the proper way to punch, lift kettlebells, do crunches, and even competed to see who could jump the highest. Athletic specialist Noah Segall was the winner! In arts and crafts teens painted values in Hebrew on wood plaques they painted.
For lunch we had cheese pizza, crispy waffle fries, and the salad bar. Kineret campers joined Mason for a matching game in the gazebo during music. They were each given one line from a song, and then one person was “it.” They stood in the middle and asked people their lines, matching campers that had lines to the same songs. Meanwhile in Drama, Sabra campers were trying to guess the character Martin was pretending to be by asking questions: “Are you a human?” “Are you animated?” “Are you Cinderella??”
For dinner we enjoyed chicken, mash potatoes and corn. After dinner, Sabra campers relaxed with some outdoor yoga, while the Teens went skating at Swaney’s! Halutzim had more of their Olympic competitions at the lake. It was another great day at EKC!
